  True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, Savage Wolverine, Bubble Gun, & Ten Grand

  The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys #1- Equal credit is given to Gerard Way and Shaun Simon, so that might help explain why this was nowhere near as entertaining as the Umbrella Academy. I like Becky Cloonan’s art, but it didn’t save the book for me. I have a hard time articulating exactly why I didn’t care for it, other than perhaps the entire thing is a bit too lyrical in its language and presentation.

  Six-Gun Gorilla, Ultimate Comics Ultimates, Batman, & Daredevil: Dark Knights

  Six-Gun Gorilla #1- Granted, my positive bias towards this book is massively unfair to other books simply because of the presence of a gorilla with giant guns. It’s also tipped more towards a good review simply because I like Simon Spurrier’s writing, especially when it comes to messed up weird stuff which is pretty much most of his resume.

  East of West, Thanos Rising, Uber, A+X, Avengers, & Supermag

  East of West #3- Still going strong and developing some nice sub-plots and characters. It’s still early enough for you to jump on considering they have been reprinting the first two issues. Definitely recommend giving it a shot. A

  Age of Ultron, Astro City, Locke & Key, & Savage Wolverine

  Age of Ultron #9- So after an exceedingly large amount of modern comics essentially telling us that Wolverine can’t die, he can apparently die in what is probably the least interesting way quite easily. I don’t care if I just spoiled something for you, considering that this is a story about multiple time-line doppelgangers I think it was a safe bet that at some point a Wolverine was going to die.

  Danger Club, Steampunk Snow White, The Bounce, Cyborg 009, & Green Lantern

  Danger Club #5- It’s impressive that after such a long hiatus that the storytelling has such a strong sense of momentum. Usually a break like that can stop books dead in their tracks but this issue really came together to kick everything up a notch. I also think that Eric Jones’ art is top notch and a definite treat. Do yourself a favor and catch up with the trade. A-
