- Secret Infinite Convergence War…of Stuff…and Things Pt 18
Secret Wars & All-New, All-Different Avengers
Time to spice things up a bit! Even though I probably should have included the last few issues of Avengers/New Avengers as they are Hickman’s lead into Secret Wars, I’ve been so behind on that title that I skipped most of it and figured I should start at the actual first point of the event, Secret Wars #0. So finally, while DC has been ripping off Marvel’s original Secret Wars from the 80’s, now we finally get to see Marvel’s rip-off of DC’s Crisis of Infinite Earth! Hooray!

Scarlett Couture, Cap America and The Mighty Avengers, & Suiciders
Scarlett Couture #1– In a quick glance it looks like it might be cheap T&A or just a knock off of J. Scott Cambell’s Danger Girl, but what this book surprises you with is good execution. Des Taylor’s glamour influences modern spy story hits all the usual notes (I’ll be honest and say I was never surprised by any sort of twist), but he hit all of those notes and actually developed a plot to act as a vehicle for his model turned spy main character.
- Secret Infinite Convergence War…of Stuff…and Things Pt 17
OK! So, I mentioned previously that I subconsciously (and probably consciously) neglected to pick up Convergence #3, so I grabbed that along with issue #4, all of this current block of Convergence minis, as well as Justice League #40, Multiversity #2, and the Free Comic Book Day specials for DC and Marvel as well. And I read them all together, back to back, in a couple hours. Because apparently I hate myself.
